July Favorites

Swatches (L to R): Urban Decay “Backtalk” lipstick, UD “Rush” Lip Liner, Wet n Wild “Bare to Comment” Lip Liner, Colourpop “Moon Child” Gloss

Swatches: Top 3 are the Morphe Blush trio. The bottom 4 are from the Dream St. palette.

I feel like July has flown by! It was quite eventful with Bret, my brother, and my birthdays. I haven’t felt like wearing makeup that often because this month has been spent stressing about and applying to jobs. I’m currently searching for a job and daycare for Amelia (any attorneys out there needing a new associate, let me know!). So on the few occasions I did wear makeup, I tried out a few new things that quickly became go-to products for me.

Colourpop x Kathleenlights Dream St. eyeshadow palette
This collaboration between Colourpop and Youtuber Kathleenlights has been out for months but I only got it just this month, and wow, it’s stunning! I only included a couple swatches of my favorite shades because I plan on doing a more in-depth review in conjunction with Kathleen’s newest Colourpop collab, the Zodiac palette.

Morphe Blush Trio in Blush
I picked up this blush trio a few months ago but this month it became a go-to of mine. It offers two blush options and one blush topper. Morphe has several blush trip options to choose from but I liked this one best because it offered one peach and one pink blush as opposed to two different shades of peach or pink.

Colourpop x. Kathleenlights “Moon Child” Lip Gloss
This is part of the collection Colourpop did with Kathleen and, while I like the other two lip products that are part of the collection, this lip gloss is amazing. It’s a nude gloss that can be worn on its own or over a lipstick, it’s very versatile.

Urban Decay “Backtalk” lipstick & “Rush” Lipliner
This duo came as a set during last years holiday season but I didn’t really try it until now. It’s a great Spring/Summer color, very pink, and adds a nice pop of color to a neutral outfit.

Wet n Wild “Bare to Comment” Lipliner
This is the lip liner I wear under almost every lipstick and gloss. It’s a pinky nude that is versatile and can be worn under another product or on its own because of its pigmentation.

NYX Worth the Hype Mascara
This mascara lives up to its name because it is definitely worth the hype! It has a big fluffy brush that spreads out your lashes to give volume but also adds product to make them look full and black. This has quickly become the only mascara I want to use but also use in conjunction with other mascaras.

Julep nail polish in “Brigitte
I am a big fan of white nail polish. I think it’s a color that can be used all year round, whether you are at the beach or a pumpkin patch. The few times I was able to do my nails I was usually picking between white, grey, or a fun color and almost always white won. I specifically mention Julep’s nail polish because I think they have a really great formula that isn’t streaky, clumpy, or dries in the bottle.

That’s it for July! I am excited for August because Amelia’s first birthday is the 24th and then I get to decorate for Fall! I was going to restrain myself until September 1 but now I think I’m going to give myself until Amelia’s birthday, because I’m just too excited. And in case anyone else is as excited as I am, Hobby Lobby and Homegoods already have their Fall and Halloween decor out!
