September Style Challenge

For the month of September I decided to join one of my favorite bloggers in a style challenge she’s doing on Instagram. Erika Fox from Retro Flame is an Irish blogger living in NYC. I love her style, home decor, and accent (probably my favorite part, haha). She created this challenge as a way to challenge herself to be creative in her style this month. She also challenged her readers to follow along and take part too!

I missed the first two days due to Amelia birthday party but I put together two outfits for it to make up for it. I’ll be posting weekly roundups detailing my outfits and the stories behind them.

Day 1: Weekend Style

Every weekend (and week day) is pretty much the same of wearing jeans with a comfy top and flats. I like doing more neutral looks so I can wear my snake or cheetah flats.

Day 2: Sentimental Sunday

The event this outfit was for was probably the most sentimental thing with it being Amelia’s first birthday. But otherwise my A necklace and engagement ring are my sentimental items.

Day 3: Pop of Color

I added this pink blazer to a very neutral look for a pop of color. You can easily wear this blazer to work or casually like I did here.

Day 4: The Forgotten One

There are several forgotten piece here. I bought this top last year and haven’t worn it because I’ve been waiting to wear it to work. I’ve also neglected these sunglasses, purse, and booties. I love this Zac Posen purse Bret got me for our first anniversary but I only use it if I don’t have Amelia with me because my purse doubles as a diaper bag.

Day 5: White Wednesday

White is a huge trend right now, whether it’s in the clothes or accessories and I am here for it! I used to never wear white jeans or pants but this summer I decided to try them and I love them. I think an all white outfit in Fall/Winter looks so crisp and fresh.

Day 6: Statement Bag

This was my first high end purse purchase when I started working for the Angels and I carried this thing everywhere! It’s vintage Tory Burch and can fit my laptop, notebooks, wallet, and a water bottle. I haven’t used it at all since Amelia was born so I knew I had to break it out for this day!

Day 7: Layer It On

My first thought when I thought about layers was dressing up as an onion or Shrek (like the part where Shrek comes being an ogre to onions, it’s the best part). But since I don’t have an onion costume, I went with plaid and my leather jacket. This is an outfit I wear when I’m out and about and then throw the jacket on for the evening.
